THOT EXPERIMENT: TRANS SELFIE CULTURE AND LACAN’S IDEAL EGO

I am excited to share the work I did for the 2021 Virtual Conference called Digital (Im)materialities this past May hosted by Concordia University. I would like to thank the Media Studies MA cohort for accepting my piece and hosting an amazing conference! Some content warnings for the comic below include gender dysphoria and dissociation, trans jealousy, and some swearing. The piece I’m sharing is a part of a longer project on what I call Trans Metaphysics, with this section focusing on connecting trans bodily/psychic experience to Lacan’s body of work.
